Parents, families, and friends are welcome to attend. Please be seated by 1915 hours (7:15 pm). All cadets that signed up for the Battle of Britain parade tomorrow, 10 Sept, are expected to attend. Please arrive at the Air Force Garden of Remembrance (near the pavilion) in Stanley Park at 1230 hrs. Dress is C1. Dismissal will be at approximately 1500. If you signed up and are unable to attend please fill in an absence form.
Please remember to have a meal before you arrive. See you tomorrow! 103 squadron will begin accepting new recruits for the 2023-2024 training year starting in September. Recruits must be between 12 and 18 years old.
Please join us for recruit orientation on Wednesday, September 13 at 7 PM at the small blue building in the compound next to the JP Fell armoury at 1513 Forbes Avenue. You may enter via the front doors of the armoury if the compound gate is closed, just press the buzzer at the door. There will be a brief tour for the recruits followed by a question-and-answer session, and an opportunity to register. If you wish you may fill out the registration form online at the Online Registration Tool for Cadets - Canada.ca or we can provide them to you in person. Recruits must have ID with them for registration. The official identification documents accepted are as follows: valid Canadian passport; attestation or birth certificate issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial government, or by the Government of Canada; card, visa or permit issued by the Government of Canada authorizing the person to reside legally in Canada; identification card issued by a Canadian provincial or territorial government, or by the Government of Canada. The recruit's BC personal health number or private health insurance information is also required; please bring your BC Services Card (formerly CareCard). A parent or guardian must be present to sign forms. We look forward to seeing you on September 13th! 103 squadron will begin the 2023/2024 training year with an administration parade on 6 September, starting at 1830 hours. Senior NCOs (sergeants and up) will arrive at 1800 hours. Dismissal will be at 2000 hrs. All cadets must re-validate their information with the AdminO prior to beginning training. Those of you that require detailed health questionnaire updates will be notified individually. Please bring any updated documentation such as health insurance cards with you. Dress is C3B. If you need to exchange uniform parts, please have them dry cleaned (except for t-shirts, FTUs or boots) and return them in the dry cleaning bag.
Following the admin parade, all senior NCOs will attend a year start meeting to go over their duties and training goals. New recruits should attend the recruit orientation briefing on 13 September at 1900 hours. 103 Squadron will be marching in the annual Battle of Britain Parade on Sunday, 10 September 2023. The event begins at 1230 at the Air Force Garden of Remembrance in Stanley Park. Dismissal will be following the parade at around 1430. Timings are approximate, cadets will be notified when they are confirmed. Dress is C1.
This is a multi-unit parade including several Air cadet squadrons, local City of Vancouver Army units, HMCS Discovery, 19 Wing Comox, Veterans’ organizations and local dignitaries. It will also be our first activity for the 2023-2024 training year. All returning cadets are encouraged to attend this important event. Please sign up using the online form! |
