Poppy FUndraising Update
Thank you to all cadets that volunteered to help the Royal Canadian Legion with their annual poppy fundraising activity. Volunteering is a required part of earning your level qualifications. There is still volunteer space available for the Nov 5 and 6 days, please use the signup sheets posted in the blue building on Wednesday.
We also need one more cadet for the morning shift tomorrow, 30 October, from 10-12. Please contact Capt Ferg if you can fill in.
Remembrance Day School Activities
Reminder to all cadets: if you wish to wear your uniform to take part in Remembrance Day activities at your school, you must request permission from the CO in advance. Uniforms may ONLY be worn at approved activities.
CO's Parade 26 Oct
This Wednesday, 26 Oct, will be the first CO's parade of the 2022/2023 training year. Dress is C1 (shirt and tie) or appropriate civilian clothing. Please bring civilian clothes, your boots and your boot polishing kit (Kiwi cloth, polish, etc) for activities following the parade.
Familiarization Flying 22 Oct
All cadets are eligible to sign up for familiarization flying on the afternoon of Saturday, 22 Oct at Pitt Meadows Airport. Dress is appropriate civilian clothing, masks are required on board the aircraft. Flights will take place in Cessna 182 aircraft. Transportation to and from Pitt Meadows Airport, 18799 Airport Way, Pitt Meadows, is the responsibility of each cadet, and carpooling is encouraged.
Shifts will start at 1145, 1245 and 1345, and will be assigned once you have registered. This activity is open to 18 cadets total.
You must have submitted your annual validation (and medical, if required) forms in order to participate.
Sign up online and please provide an email address that is checked regularly, and a phone number that will be answered, as flights may be cancelled or postponed on short notice due to weather conditions.
Fall Junior Hike-Ex 15 Oct
Our first field exercise for this training year will be held this Saturday, 15 October. Level 1 and 2 cadets will hike in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve and take part in survival training classes taught by senior cadets (unfortunately we cannot accommodate level 3 cadets due to group size constraints).
Please arrive at the assembly area at the Rice Lake Gate at the end of Lillooet Road at 0900 hrs on 15 Oct. Dismissal will be at the same place at 1600 hrs.
Dress for the weather and bring water and an optional snack. Lunch will be provided.
Please also bring a signed permission slip.
