Cadets of all levels are invited to participate in marksmanship training on 5 June at the JP Fell Armoury. Training will take place from 1000 to 1400h. Dress in civilian clothing. Space is limited to eight cadets, junior cadets that have not previously participated are preferred.
Sign up at the online form, and if you sign up and are unable to attend you must fill out an absence form. Training on Wednesday, May 25 will once again be in-person for all levels. Meet at the armoury (not the blue building) at 1830h, dismissal is at 2115h. Dress is C1, with shirt and tie. We will be rehearsing for the squadron's annual ceremonial review (ACR).
On Saturday, May 28 we will hold our annual ceremonial review in the armoury, starting at 0930 and ending at 1230. This is traditionally the most elaborate parade of the year, with presentations by the squadron band and drill and survival teams, as well as an awards ceremony, all in front of an audience of dignitaries and parents. This year we are unable to have an in-person audience, and we haven't had any special teams since the pandemic started, so it will be a little more low-key. Cadets are still expected to put in an effort to ensure that their uniforms and drill are in top shape. Training on Wednesday, May 18 will once again be in-person for all levels. Meet at the armoury (not the blue building) at 1830h, dismissal is at 2115h. Dress will be civilian clothes but BRING YOUR C1 UNIFORM on a hanger, for those that have uniforms.
Please also bring your boot polish and cloth, and your iron and ironing board if you have one! If you do not have a uniform yet, try and get some polish and a cloth so you can learn how to take care of parade boots. Black Kiwi polish and a Kiwi cloth are good options and can be purchased at most drug stores. Marksmanship training will take place this Sunday, May 15, for those junior cadets that signed up. Please arrive at the armoury at 0900h, dismissal will be at 1200h.
Training on Wednesday, May 11 will once again be in-person for all levels. Meet at the armoury (not the blue building) at 1830h, dismissal is at 2115h. Dress will be C3, for those that have uniforms. Please remember to bring your rocketry projects as we will be completing them.
Cadets are reminded to submit their summer training requests prior to the deadline on May 11. |
